I am feeling 150% better than I was last week.  I feel like everything is back to normal, aside from the occasional head-fog.

This was an epiphany I had towards the end of my mental breakdown.

I’m feeling a lot better now.  I had a bad reaction to Luvox, and I am now taking a new medication.  This was the worst I had been years, but now it is behind me.

This is a really difficult subject for me.  I will try to lighten things up in future comics.

An important part of therapy is uncover the roots of your disorder.  For me, the roots of my social anxiety stems from being yelled at on my first day of Kindergarten.  I’ll try to elaborate in the next comic.

I went to see a psychiatrist on Friday.  I’ve never seen a psychiatrist before.  In the past, I’ve had antidepressants assigned to me through general physicians.  Every therapist I’ve seen has been a psychologist (which means they don’t have the authority to prescribe drugs).  I have to admit, it makes more sense to see a psychiatrist first.  They have more expertise in determining the best medicine for psychological conditions.

It also helps that the therapist for the last few months has helped me clarify the issues I have been having.  A lot of my problems revolve around social anxiety, and I would not have known that without talking to the therapist.

So far the system appears to be working.

The ironic thing is that once I accepted that I was burnt-out, I started becoming more productive.  I will be discussing burn-out and other things on a future Lutefisk Sushi Podcast.  I will share it as soon as it’s uploaded.

I went to three Christmas parties this year (four if you count a post-Christmas dinner).  That is way more socializing than I am used to.

Christmas parties are weird.  I feel like I have some freedom, but my choices are very limited.  I never really feel like I’m in control.  I don’t know if anyone really is.  I feel more like an improv actor playing out the role assigned to me.  It’s very stressful.
