I’ve been debating on whether or not I should make a comic for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving has become one of my least favorite holidays over the past few years. It’s a holiday dedicated to eating large amounts of meat and watching football. Instead of whining about what it was like to be a vegetarian on Thanksgiving, I thought I would make a subversive comic about what I was REALLY thankful for. Below is a sketch of what I had planned:
The punch line of this comic is false. I have a lot to be thankful for. I have made so many wonderful friends over the last few years. I have had the wonderful opportunity to make a comic I love and share it with the world. I have the freedom and flexibility to pursue my dreams.
But I thought I’d share the above comic because I thought it was funny.

Glad to see you could find a comic to do about Taco Bell bean burritos. We (you, Danno, and myself) should relive I-Con one of these days.
Feeling like you this year… I’m semi-veg (still eat fish)… and my family is always worrying about what to make that I can eat. When what they should worry about is what they should be thankful for. (they do give thanks, but its not the main thing in their minds during that holiday)… oh well… this year… I’m really emphasizing the thanking part.
Thanks Ryan… a great thanks – giving day to you!
I have the same issue with my family. I usually make something for myself the night before to ease worries. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
I like the comic. If you feel the punchline is a wrong, you could change it to something like, “Huh?” Or, “Burp.” Or maybe, “Like what?” Those would imply the “Not really,” but it wouldn’t really say it out loud. And maybe still be funny.
In any case, Happy Thanksgiving, Ryan!
I also considered using the punchline: “Toilet Paper.”
