L'il Depression

L’il Depression

This comic references a comic I drew for a newspaper project called Big Funny.  It’s one of the most vapid and spiritually bankrupt comics I’ve ever made, but it was made to be funny, not enlightening.  You can read it here:

If you’re in Minneapolis you’ll  be able to see the original art on display at Altered Esthetics starting the first Friday of August.  More details at the official Big Funny website.

As for L’il Buddha’s depression, don’t worry.  He’ll get over it very soon.

Can’t wait to read it in the paper!

  2. I want to hug the poor little guy.

Ryan, vapid and spiritually bankrupt is not a word I would use to describe any of your comics.

    Mine are a different story… :D

  3. Wow! Way to sell your Big Funny comic to your adoring fans! Argh! Come on Ryan, it isn’t vapid and spiritually bankrupt!

  4. Ryan Dow says:

Hey, being vapid and spiritually bankrupt might be a selling point to some people. I was looking for a way to say that the comic was not very rational or insightful. That’s not a bad thing. Maybe saying it was vapid and spiritually bankrupt was a little harsh.

  5. Ryan Dow says:

Oh crap. I just looked up the word vapid, and it didn’t meant what I thought it meant at all.

  6. Lupi says:

I saw a Thich Nat Hanh calendar once. Daily zen! Maybe that’d cheer him up.

  7. Ryan Dow says:

I have a Thich Nat Hahn book called The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching. I haven’t made it all the way through it yet.
