Roach Drama

Roach Drama

So the other night I saw a roach in my kitchen.  At least I think it was a roach.  It was kind of small, so it looked more like a brown june bug.  Roaches kind of freak me out, so I went out to buy some traps.

In Buddhism, killing insects is a pretty big thing.  Early Buddhist monks used staffs to scare away any bugs they might potentially step on.  Jon Porcellino’s Diary of a Misquito Abatement Man cronicles a man’s newfound love of Buddhism and its conflicts with being a professional insect killer.  So going out and buying roach poison is not something I feel easy with.  So I thought I’d make a comic about it.

I always feel nervous about making these kinds of comics.  I feel like I’m spreading misunderstanding by writing about stuff I don’t fully understand.  Hopefully, I will gain a greater understanding of this over time.

This is the wackiest comic about FUTURE ANTIQUE ROADSHOW ever!!!

Yeah, every time I get ready to do a Future Antique Roadshow comic, I come up with a better idea (or an idea I want to do more).

  3. Lupi says:

I like this. But Future Antique Roadshow sounds funny too. I’m so torn, I don’t know what I want!

  4. Ryan Dow says:

Well, our lat Saint Paul comic jam had Futuristic Antique Roadshow as the theme, so there’s always that.

  5. Yeah, leave it to me for not posting that jam. What an ass!
