The Best I Could Do – pt 5

Sorry for the lack of colors.

I’ve been really unhappy with the quality of my comics lately.  I think it all stems from not taking very good care of myself.  I’ve been a cranky zombie for the last two months or so, and it’s been resulting in an inferior comic.

I’ve decided to cut things back a bit, and the easiest way to way to do that without missing updates is to go without graytones.   Besides, I’m really happy with the way it looks in black and white.

  1. I like the black and white. It gives it that weekly paper comic feel and looks really nice. I draw my Wednesday and Friday comics in that way and my full color Monday comics appear like that when printed.

  2. Good job Ryan! Were you a cranky zombie while in Columbus? If so, I really didn’t notice. You always seem cranky to me! HA!

Thanks, Vince! I like the black and white too, although I am planning on toning it before I print it.

I wasn’t so much a cranky Zombie in Columbus because I got plenty of sleep. I’m referring to all time spent preparing for and recovering from Columbus and Microcon. I’ve also been trying to get a comic done for next month’s Kids Read Comics convention. So I needed to cut back on something.
