I’m going to SPACE!

The Small Press Alternative Comics Expo, that is! This weekend Dan Olson and I are taking a road trip to Ohio this weekend to sell our comic book gold!

We’re leaving on Friday, but I’m packing today. Here are the things you’ll expect to see:

Weekends With Carl – A graphic novel about standing up for yourself and for who you want to be.

Which One is Genuine? – Comic adaptation of a poem by Charles Baudelaire.

L’il Buddha Loves You – A compilation of L’il Buddha strips.

Plunger-Man and the Super Plumbers (ashcan edition) – It’s Super Friends but with poop jokes.

Goodbye Kitty – A tale of murder and revenge from beyond the grave told with stuffed animals.

VIP – An embarrassing and shameful minicomic I made for Lutefisk Sushi.

I’ve also got buttons for sale and free postcards for your swag bag, so if you’re in the area stop on by and say, “Howdy!”

L’il Buddha Foam Board Display

For SPACE next week, I am making a hand-painted display of L’il Buddha. Here’s the progress so far:

I’m using cheap Crayola paints and brushes for this project. I wanted to keep things cheap because I wasn’t really sure how well the display would work. Also, whenever trying a new medium I like to start with cheap materials so I can appreciate good materials later. I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on brushes and paints only to find that I despise painting. That’s how I roll.
