My first printed copy of Weekends With Carl arrived last weekend. The formating of the comic turned out okay, but I didn’t like the way the graytones were converted to black and white. I will be trying to convert the tones to black and white before sending them to the printer to see if it looks any better. I also recolored to cover to improve the contrast and make it more visually interesting.
I just ordered another test copy of the book. If everything turns out fine, I should be able to have copies for sale in mid-February.
I’ve finally given this site a new coat of paint. After listening to Episode 17 of the Sequential Atists’ Pub, I put a lot of hard thought into the way my site look and decided some changes needed to be made.
The biggest change is that I have moved from ComicPress to Inkblot with Webcomic. ComicPress is a great tool, but I really liked the streamlined design and added navigational features of Inkblot.
Another big change is the absense of Project Wonderful ads. Project Wonderful is a fantastic service, but I didn’t like how the ads drew attention away from the comic. I was only making about a dollar a month and decided to use the space for more constructive purposes.
Anyway, I hope you like the new site!
