Epilogue - pt 2

Epilogue – pt 2

Click here to go to the beginning of this storyline.

I was going to post more about the Minneapolis Inistitute of the Arts exhibits that are in this page, but I am really sick right now.  I’ll try to post it tomorrow if I feel better.

UPDATE: I am feeling a lot better now.  Here’s the promised update on the art featured in this comic.

Mother With Child - I could not find a picture of the original on the MIA website.  The closet match I could find was this.  The picture is based on a sketch I made when visiting the museum.

Cartonnage of Lady TashatAn awesome Egyptian coffin.

The Game of Go - I didn’t draw in the seam on this one as I throught it might be distracting.

Scenes of Plains Indian Life - A buffalo hunt painted on elkhide.

Dance Mask – A West African dance mask.

Little Servant Girl – I really like the elongated features on this one.

More art to come next Wednesday!

  1. Beautiful page. Get better Ryan.

  2. MonsterTwin says:

    Hope you feel better!

((I love how this comic is always on time.))

  3. Jon Sloan says:

Hey Ryan, hope you feel better soon. I’m going to try to get a guest comic done for you that I’ll hand to you at the jam this week. I like this strip! I usually need to roam the halls of the MIA from time to time to get my “culture/fine arts fix”. I like the diversity of cultural items you spotlighted here.

  4. Ryan Dow says:

    To Dan – Thanks!

To MonsterTwin – I do my best to make on time updates. This one I lucked out on since I had it done before Saturday. There was no way I could have finished otherwise.

To Jon – Looking forward to the guest comic. Glad you noticed the diversity of items, as that was really what I was going for.

    To Jenny – Thanks!

That takes me back. I haven’t been to MIA yet, but I used to go to the art museum in Cincinnati a lot, just to look around and think.

  6. Ryan Dow says:

Museums are nice places to think.
