This is page 5 of an ongoing graphic novel that begins here. Page 6 will be uploaded on 10/26/2007.

Giving Carl my phone number is one of many stupid things my character will do over the course of this story. I’ll probably get some criticism over it. One thing I don’t think I’ve made clear yet is that we’re both working in I.T., and it’s pretty common for I.T. guys to share their cell numbers, especially when they’re both looking for work.

This was a difficult page to get done. Mostly because of all the socializing and events I did this week. I had a company party, a Teen Week talk, and I did an 8-hr comic for 24-Hr Comic Day. Plus I handed out bulletins for Minnesota Zen Meditation Center. That’s an awful lot of socializing for an introvert like myself.

See you in a week.

At the end of the first day, we traded contact info.
You can never enough when you’re looking for more permanent work.
This is Carl.
I just wanted to say I had a good time meeting you today.
You seem like a really good person, and I, uh, just got done talking with one of my old managers…
And he has a job opening that I think would be a good fit for you.

  1. Why was it stupid to give out your phone number? Do I smell foreshadowing?
24 Hour Comic Day was fun! Even though I felt horrible the next day. I’ll post my comic soon. Did you see Kevin Cannon’s? It’s posted on his website and at
    24-hourcomic.blogspot.com/.
Need to make some dinner now! See you next week!

I will be posting my 8-hr comic soon. Probably tomorrow.
