Get Back in the Box

Get Back in the Box

I was going to do a comic that explained how L’il Buddha was not a pure vision of my Buddha nature, that he was being filtered through my “clouded, delusional consciousness.” In other words, that the views expressed by this Buddha were a reflection of its creator and did not represent the views expressed by Zen teachings or Buddhism in general. But I decided to put that disclaimer in the comments instead.

If you want more authentic Buddhist comics, I would recommend Dharma the Cat and Heart of Stonework. If you like Buddhist comics with a helping of sass, I would recommend KoanHead.

All right, L’il Buddha. I think it’s time for you to go back in the box.
This comic was designed to be about only one character. No supporting characters.
“And how is that working out?”
Well, I have to admit I am running out of interesting ways to draw myself thinking.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Why do you insist on spending so much time alone?”
Well, I’ve always been an introvert.
“No, I think there’s more to it than that.”

  1. Noooooo! Don’t put L’il Buddha back in the box! At least let him make cameos.
By the way, Zoomerman is the greatest! Girls just don’t understand!

  2. Oh yeah, and I love the backwards “E” on the box.

  3. Anna Tramell says:

Nuu! Nuu more webcomics! I’m barely able to keep up as it is!!
