This comic is based on a pop song called “Chewing Gun” by Annie. The only reason I’ve ever heard of it is because it was on the YTMND soundtrack, volume 13. I had the song in my head during a leisurely stroll, and it occured to me: This would have to be the most embarrassing song in the world to be caught dancing to. I don’t think even I’m goofy enough to be able to dance to this. Really.

Anyway, I really wanted to do this comic to contrast last week’s strip. One week I’m condemning “department store mediocrity,” the next I’m dancing to a sugary pop song. What next?
